New Found Glory Performs with T-Shirt Slingshot Before “Failure’s Not Flattering” at PNC Bank Arts Center
This past August 2, 2025, New Found Glory delivered a memorable performance at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, engaging their audience in a lively concert experience. Notably, the band incorporated a unique moment into their set by launching T-shirts into the crowd using a makeshift slingshot just before performing their song “Failure’s Not Flattering,” off the album Catalyst.
The band recently completed two consecutive nights at EPCOT’s renowned “Eat to the Beat” concert series. These shows carried an emotional weight for both the band and fans. It marked their inaugural performances since the passing of guitarist Chad Gilbert, whose deep love for Disney was widely recognized. Fans and members alike expressed how meaningful these performances were, given Gilbert’s longstanding affection for Disney, making the Ons at EPCOT a heartfelt tribute amidst the celebration of his life and legacy.
Reflecting on Gilbert’s impact, I recall witnessing him play live only once—during New Found Glory’s opening act for Green Day on the American Idiot Tour at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia on October 29, 2004. More recently, I attended the band’s show at Holmdel, where Gilbert was noticeably absent on stage. Nevertheless, his influence was palpable throughout the performance, with the band visibly honoring his memory.
During the Holmdel concert, a particularly energetic highlight was when the band used a T-shirt slingshot to send merchandise into the crowd, creating an interactive and exciting moment before launching into “Failure’s Not Flattering.” The event was filled with energy and enthusiasm, reminding attendees of the band’s enduring connection with their fans.
From my vantage point in the 12th row, I enjoyed a dynamic performance, though I must admit, I was so close that catching a T-shirt was nearly impossible! It’s moments like these that highlight the exhilarating unpredictability of live music experiences.
Stay tuned for more updates and stories from upcoming concerts and events, as we continue to celebrate the vibrant world of live music and the enduring spirit of artists like New Found Glory.
